Fellow transit enthusiasts: you will love this video of the latest addition to my office here in NP’s LA office because it’s a framed map of LA’s Pacific Electric Railway System from 1926, and it sits above an artistic rendering of the LA Metro system.
It makes me wonder if there is such a thing as transit nostalgia? Perhaps that is something that can only exist here in Los Angeles because we did have an expansive system at one point in our history and we can still see it in may classic films (especially my favorite genre, film noir).
Also, if you watch until the end, you will learn who my favorite all-time fictional lawyer is as I have a portrait of him in my office.
If you want to purchase your own, check out 53 Studio. It’s where I purchased my map.
